There is a MASSIVE amount of fleet business missed by many fuel, and especially automotive repair facilities, simply because they do not have a credit card processor, or bank which can support fleet credit transactions.
Bank Transactions is one of the few credit card processing companies which can support fleet card transactions.
What is a Fleet Credit Card?
Fleet cards are special credit cards which track spending information for vehicle expenses and compile this information for managers and employers. Voyager, Wright Express, Fuelman and MasterCard® Fleet are examples of popular fleet credit cards used through out the United States. Bank Transactions process all of these fleet cards and many others.
Voyager is typically used by most federal, state and local government agencies. Examples include: General Services Administration, US Postal Service, Department of Defense, US Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Small Business Administration and many more. The Voyager Fleet Card is the fastest growing universal fuel and maintenance fleet card in the industry with 200,000 regional, national, local and independent locations in all 50 states. Voyager now has state contracts in whole or in part with 25 states.
Wright Express fleet cards are typically used by private companies: Coca-Cola, GE, UPS, Frito-Lay, Merrill Lynch and many more. The Wright Express card is accepted nationwide at more than 41,000 merchants offering service and maintenance.
How Does Fleet Credit Card Processing Work?
A company may provide a fleet credit card to employee drivers for gas expenses, and repair expenses of the company vehicles. The fleet cards are automatically restricted for purchases of only fuel and mechanical expenses for the vehicle. Employees will not be able to purchases meals, food, or any other items with the fleet cards. To initiate a fleet card transaction, a driver must enter a PIN number, the odometer reading of the vehicle, and perhaps the license number of the vehicle. At the end of the month, management will receive a detailed report of fleet card activity showing fuel purchases and repair expenses. The report will show: how much fuel was purchased per driver, the grade of fuel purchased; the mileage per gallon of the vehicle, the average fuel price, and if there were any maintenance or repair expenses.
